As a member of EOTA, Technical and Test Institute for Construction Prague (TZÚS Praha, s.p.) is authorized to issue the ETA (European Technical Assessment) for all types of construction products referred to in the CPR, Annex IV, as a Technical Assessment Body.
The ETA can be issued for the construction products:
- for which there is no harmonized standard;
- that deviate from the harmonized standard.
Just as assessment according to harmonized European standards, product assessment (certification) in accordance with the ETA leads to the CE marking. The CE marking significantly facilitates placing products on the EU market.
The ETA is issued based on the EAD, prepared by EOTA. The EAD is a document that replaces the previously used ETAG and CUAP. It is similar to standards, but its preparation is much faster than in the case of standards, and the process is thus also suitable for innovative products.
The ETA is not a final document for issuing a Declaration of Performance. After the ETA is issued, it is also necessary to carry out conformity assessment, which is performed by the notified body. The Declaration of Performance then refers to the ETA and the relevant document issued by the notified body. All activities related to the issuance of the ETA and the following processes are carried out by Technical and Test Institute for Construction Prague – you can obtain information about the activities from our specialists.
