Building envelope energy labels

BUILDING ENVELOPE ENERGY LABELS

The energy label of the building envelope according to ČSN 73 0540 provides comprehensive information on the quality of the building envelope (or its defined heated part) in terms of its thermal insulation. As with building energy performance certificates, the evaluated building is classified into one of the classes A to G, but in this case based only on the resulting value of the average heat transfer coefficient – Uem [W/(m2·K)]. This is the basic evaluation of cooled constructions at the system boundary of the building. The lower the resulting value of the average heat transfer coefficient (Uem), the better the building is insulated and the less energy it will consume in operation, which can reduce operating costs.
